Marius Dominykas Sakavičius was born in 1994. From 2002 till 2014 he was studying cello in the class of teacher Romanas Armonas at The National M. K. Čiurlionis School of Arts. During later school years he was laureate in several national string competitions as a soloist and as a member of chamber ensembles.

In 2020 he completed bachelor’s studies and in 2022 - master’s studies in doc. Ramutė Kalnėnaitė's class at Vytautas Magnus University Music Academy in Kaunas. During this period of time Marius won 1st prize in XI international Alexander Glazunov competition in Paris (2019) and won the 1st prize of the "Art of Sound" international competition (in 2019) with chamber ensemble “Trio Bohemiae”.

Since 2016 Marius is participating in the International Music Festival Olympus Musicus in Prague. He was performing as a soloist and as a member of various chamber ensembles.

 

Marius performed as a soloist with Various Orchestras: The St. Christopher Chamber Orchestra, Kaunas Wind Orchestra “Ąžuolynas”, Klaipėda Chamber Orchestra, West Bohemian Symphony Orchestra and others.

As a performer of chamber music Marius is actively performing with ensemble “Trio Bohemiae”, Harp trio “Vita chordis”, piano trio “Vytautas Magnus Trio”, Chamber ensemble “Paleasis” and “Švitrigaila string quartet”.

He actively participates in various contemporary art projects in collaboration with the team of contemporary dance performers and creators "Seiko Dance Company". He also collaborated in creating compositions for a project “Radvilos eleKtRONIKOS” which took part in The Cultural-Historical Festival “Radviliada” in Kėdainiai (2022), and a project “Nesiekiant žemės” which was a part of Vilnius culture night festival (2024).

He performed not only in Lithuania, but also in Latvia, Estonia, Poland, Czech Republic, Portugal, Denmark, Israel, Great Britain and many other countries.
